• Any amateur golfer, male or female, is eligible to compete in the Mercedes Open. The tournament purse will be determined based on total number of players.
• If team competing in the Mercedes Open the group must consist of four amateur golfers whose EGA, PGA, USGA, RCGA or BGA Handicap Indexes total 23.0 or more.
• Only one golfer on each team may have a Handicap Index of 5.0 or less.
• Golfers’ handicaps are effective as of the latter of:
(i) the day of registration for the tournament (i.e., the day the entry fee is paid)
or
(ii) the day sixty days prior to the tournament.
• Any golfer wishing to participate who does not have a Handicap Index will be required to provide scorecards attested to by a PGA Professional from which a “Mercedes Open Handicap” will be calculated in accordance with PGA Rules.
• Each golfer who has a Handicap Index will be required to present a current copy of his or her handicap card to the tournament committee at the time of registration.
• All golfers will be required to present a photo ID on the day of the tournament.
• The Mercedes Open and the Lighthouse Golf Club have the right to deny the entry of any players or teams. All handicap disputes shall be settled by arbitration with the PGA (or governing golf association) in accordance with PGA Rules, and the decision rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. Any golfer who is found to have misrepresented his/her PGA Handicap Index shall be disqualified. The Mercedes Open reserves the right to report flagrant infractions to the golfer’s golf association and the PGA.
Mercedes Open Tournament Committee decisions are final and not subject to appeal. This rule does not prevent a Committee from correcting an incorrect ruling and imposing or rescinding a penalty.
